About Us
Custom Air Designs owner Roger Campbell says, “Our customers are our number one focus.”

Sam Block has been in the heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) business since 1968, starting in New York as a pipe fitter and moving to Fort Lauderdale in 1973. He earned his mechanical contractor’s license in 1984 and from 1985 to 1990 he owned Eveready Air Conditioning and Refrigeration. In 1990, his career continued with Penn Refrigeration and Air Conditioning as general manager and vice president. Sam directed the service department in addition to estimating and selling commercial and residential projects.
Roger Campbell began in the HVAC field right out of high school. He moved to Florida from Pittsburgh in 1982, working in the field running large commercial plazas with Publix and Winn Dixie stores, from the ground up. Roger owned Air Consultants, Inc. from 1989 to 1991. From there, he concentrated on project management and estimating. Roger and Sam met in 1996 through a project with Penn Refrigeration and Air Conditioning that they were both involved with. In 2000, Roger took a job with Penn Refrigeration as project manager and estimator where he worked closely with Sam. In October 2003, they decided to begin their own business, purchasing Custom Air Designs as equal partners from Tim Walters. Tim had owned and operated the business since 1974 and was ready for retirement. This great business relationship is reflected in their employee and customer loyalty.
